Intraocular lens accommodating
Additionally, the Acry Sof® IQ Re STOR® IOL clinical studies indicate that over 95% of the study subjects were so satisfied with their new quality vision that they would have the Acry Sof® IQ Re STOR® IOL implanted again.
Unfortunately, this ability diminishes as we grow older, causing us to become dependent on bifocals or reading glasses.
Thankfully, by combining the strengths of apodized diffractive and refractive technologies, the Acry Sof® IQ Re STOR® IOL can now provide quality near, intermediate and distance vision, and increased independence from reading glasses or bifocals.
Multifocal IOLs incorporate discrete optical elements into the lens to offer both near and distance vision.
This design strategy trades off some of the benefits of seeing through a single zone in order to have a greater range of focus. While many multifocal patients can read without glasses, their distance vision may not be as sharp as it might be with a monofocal IOL.
These lens options can give you additional benefits, but also more choices that need to be made in determining your lens implant type.
